About the Event
Our voices are deeply personal—they are not just how we communicate, but how we are perceived and affirmed by the world around us. For many trans and gender-diverse individuals, aligning voice and communication style with their gender identity can be a powerful and affirming step in their journey.
This presentation will explore the role of speech-language pathologist in gender-affirming communication therapy. This specialized area of speech-language pathology helps individuals express themselves authentically and safely by offering personalized therapy that may include modifying pitch, resonance, body language, vocal hygiene, and overall communication style. These services can reduce the frequency of misgendering and contribute to greater confidence and wellbeing.
This session is designed for community members, allies, and anyone curious about the intersection of communication, gender, and care. Come learn how voice can be a lifeline—and how we, as a community, can support one another in using it fully and fearlessly.
